Hey, thanks very much!! Been very curious about this one. It may be difficult but what in your opinion are Ennio Morricone best records? In other words, where do I start in this blog?

Hi, Makuma,
Thanks for your message. Tough one to call - sometimes I'll play a CD to death if I like it. Anyway, some of my favorites are thus; -
I Magi Randagi
Sacco & Vanzetti
Master & Margherite
El Greco
Hornet's Nest
Day's Of Heaven
Orca Killer Whale
The Adventurer
Phantom Of The Opera
Tre Nel 1000
Treasure Of The Four Crowns
Canone Inverso
'Tis Pity She's A Whore
La Sconoscuitta
Mission To Mars
Metti Una Sera A Cena
Marco Polo

Of course all the Westerns. I'd start downloading the whole lot if I were you. You will find some of the greatest music ever written.

Cheers and welcome to the blog!

A good place to start would be The Legendary Italian Westerns [1990 RCA] or I Western [1980 RCA]. Both look at his work with the Italian westerns. Of his full scores, La Donna Invisible [1969 Dagored] or Metti Una Sera A Cena [1969 Cinevox] are excellent ones, as are Veruschka [1971 General Music], Il Diavolo Nel Cervello [1972 General Music], Il Gatto [1977 Cinevox], L'assoluto Naturale [1969 Cinevox]or Le Foto Proibite Di Una Signora Per Bene [1970]. Ennio is a GIANT. His nick-name, The Maestro is a fitting title. Ennio is bigger then any music style or form. He is a musical GOD. Inventing new sound worlds all for his own delight & those lucky enough to have discovered his universe.
